The Land of Healthy Living: Tulum

In July, I traveled to Tulum, Mexico with my boyfriend as my graduation gift (we like giving memories instead of gifts). We stayed at Azuilk Resort & Maya Spa. It was absolutely picture perfect. The pristine blue waters overlooking our room pool was incredible. Every morning, we would wake up when the sun rose, and come back every evening after dinner to 15 candles lit throughout our room. Azuilk was an eco-resort, which means there was hardly no electricity in the rooms aka no AC (it was sooooo hot). Each room only had two plugs, one safe, and no actual lighting. It was an a nice change of pace though. At Azuilk they really want you to slow down. They believe that showers are "for busy people," so they only provide you with a bathtub in your bungalow. Traveling to Tulum was truly an incredible experience. I cannot wait to go back!

Let talk about the food: It was INSANE. This town is very vegan centered. We coincidently visited during the Tulum Vegan Fest (although we spent our days relaxing on the beach). We ate at Azuilk's hotel restaurant called the Cenote Bar. The first day I ordered Tofu Skewers with seaweed noodles, it tasted delicious. Some of the other restaurants we went to included:

- Kitchen Bar- Was great for dinner and we were sitting in what felt like the Jungle

- Raw Love- For the best acai bowl- I got the Healthy Belly Bowl and my boyfriend got the acai berry

- Hartwood- Where that cocoa and bee pollen sweet potato is from in my pictures above. I ordered amazing octopus here!

- Restaurant Tunich- We went here for breakfast one morning because it was walking distance from our hotel and we both got incredible spreads and homemade juices!

Perfect weekend getaway cannot wait to go back to Tulum!!
